Still working on the technicalities of photographing the moon. This was taken from the end of the pier looking back to land. The idea being to get as far from the buildings as possible. This in the hopes of using a longer focul length, causing the moon to appear larger in relation to the landscape and buildings.

Also still Bracketing in the exposures for a good combination of a clear moon and well lit buildings and such. All this series is done HDR. I found it may be done if a fast shutter speed is used, and the exposures are bracketed -4,-2,+/-0 or even darker. Depends on the light in the sky. Turns out the moon moves quite fast across the sky, and a slower speed at higher f/stops causes too much mis-alignment between exposures in the HDR.

Once the fastest shutter speed needs to be longer than 1/80 for f/8, in order to still get other objets to appear in the exposure, the moon is a wash and detail in the craters is lost.

Also, people on the pier shake the boards and blur the exposures.
