Extra-ordinary photograph you have here. So much to it, where to begin?

Overall, the composition and subject does a wonderful job of conveying the thought and meaning behind your title and comment/description. This is definitely a case where very few, if any, words are needed to help the viewer understand the statement being made by the artwork. For me, this is a requesite for doing a visual art piece. The fewer words needed, the more effective the art.

You chose a current and meaningful theme to base your work on too. The superficiality of people, and how it's encouraged by the fashion industry is a topic that has been done before, so on originality it's only four stars.

But, in the way you've expressed this thought, and the excellent techinique you've employed doing so, certainly earns you the highest marks, on my score card. Using the mannequin to represent a person, really brings home to my thinking how the fashion industry tends view the 'consumer' as little more than fashion dolls, Barbies to be dressed up in the latest and greatest, with someting new for every occasion, and every season. It also expresses nicely how some latch on to this concept as a lifestyle. Investing huge personal resources into this, until there is little left of the person but a plastic shell. At least that can be discerned from daily interaction.

One observation or thought that I'm bringing away from this, is how the figure is separated from the real world, encapsulated behind a curtain of glass. Looking out and vaguely seeing and understanding the pulse of life on the other side. Percieving perhaps, little more than what we can see, reflected off the glass in this view.

On a purely technical/photographic note, you've matched the composition and idea with excellence in technique. I really love how you've captured all the layers of light in this composition. The reflections, the sheen on the figure, the contrastiness of the environment. All the detail.

Overall, I found this to be a stunning and well thought out piece of work.
3 out of 4 deviants thought this was fair.
