Just some interesting favorites from over the last few days.
This one is listed as a photomanipulation. It is difficult to tell where the photos are at, and is so skillfully put together that it seems created whole and original. Also the way the theme is tied together into the creature is just amazing.
This one is simply a photograph, but for clarity and quality of light, composition and sharpness; it seems to be created in a more controlled environment. A really excellent photograph.
This is a digital painting for a video game that is in the development stage. It looks like an interesting premise, and the artwork is spectacular. It has a link in the description for a kickstarter campaign if you would like to help get this project off the ground.
I love this one just for the happenstance of the alignment of the sun between these trees and the sharp eye of the photographer to see this and compose the photo. It almost looks like the trees are caressing the sun as it rises into a new day.
This is a great shot just for sheer drama. I like the way the composition and situation of this church just sweeps up to the right, really brings to life the mountainous location.
I just like the haughty expression of the model and how the darkness of the tones bring out that effect. Besides being a really skillful drawing.
This just really evokes a mood. Not really a good mood, but a mood none the less. I really like how the artist has managed to make the face emerge from the vertically angled brush strokes, and the slight hints of color give life and reality to the composition.
The following are a few B&W compositions, each by a different artist. Notice how the composition and processing has lent a different atmosphere to each, yet each brings out the attributes that make a good B&W photo so splendid.
This quilt is an amazing piece of craftsmanship. I would especially encourage you to please read the artists description to get the full impact of how this came about.
I just really like how the artist captured the late, late twilight afterglow of the day in this painting.
A brilliant depiction of a demon that haunts many of us.
Warm and fuzzy. But you should really read the origins of the works in this series.
And as always, the Cat Tax:
